Position : Network Storage Engineer
Location : Audubon, King of Prussia, PA
Duration : Full Time / CTH
Primary Responsibilities
Develops, implements and maintains the organization’s backup and data storage strategy, operations and policies by:
- Performing gap analysis of current state including evaluating stakeholder requirements and concerns, reviewing audit recommendations, and analyzing test results
- Analyzing storage and backup requirements
- Developing storage and backup techniques
- Studying new storage and backup technologies and provide reports on storage utilization and uptime of the storage arrays and servers attached to the SAN/NAS
· Must be able to allocate storage using the appropriate tools
· Evaluates product upgrades for appropriateness. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies
· Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of complex solutions
· Coordinates activities with other technical personnel as appropriate
· Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance
· Developing, monitoring and maintaining the company’s network storage and backup policies and plans
· Performing and analyzing network backup tests
- Developing plans to ensure an efficient means of complying with regulatory data protection requirements and storage capacity requirements
· Monitoring and detecting threats; responding timely
· Developing an incident response plan, and performing tests on a regular basis of relevant procedures
· Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems data infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs
· Researching storage and backup solutions and best practices
· Supporting the coordination and integration of network storage and backup initiatives
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
- In-depth technical understanding of networking protocols
- Solid OS level knowledge and experience (Windows servers, Linux)
· SNCP (Storage Networking Industry Association, EMCSA,, certification is highly desirable
Experience:
· Expert hands on working knowledge with NetWork Appliance NAS, EMC SAN, HP, Unix, Linix, Windows, VMWare, Quantum, Veritas Net Backup, LTO tape technology
· 5+ years experience in leading Storage and backup initiatives in a regulated and information intensive environment
· Current in storage and backup best practices and global trends
Skill set:
- Ability to work in group setting and independently; ability to adjust to changing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and orientation toward meticulous work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to project and maintain a professional and positive attitude
