Network Systems Administrator Job in Somerset 08873, New Jersey Us
The Systems Administrator works under the guidance and supervision of the Supervisor of Information Technology and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of the LAN and WAN in the headquarter location as well as remote sites. This is a hands-on role that will support the strategic direction of the department. Innovation is a key aspect of this role as the environment is constantly evolving to meet new business needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all desktops and servers and provide end user desktop support
- Innovative and team centric attitude
- Maintain 100% uptime of servers
- Server and workstation deployment
- Proactively defend and monitor the network for threats
- Manage backup servers and devices
- Patch management of all servers and desktops
- Active Directory management
- User adds/moves/changes
- Develop and maintain network infrastructure and user process documentation
- Hardware repair
- VoIP Telephony Support
- Provide on call support after hours
- Minimal travel required
Preferred background
- Associates orBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred but not required. Advanced certifications plus experience may be substituted.
- 3-5 Years’ Experience in: Citrix XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop, Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2007, Group Policy, Cisco VoIP Telephony, Routers, Switches, ASA Firewall, VPN, Blackberry BES, VLAN, Dynamics GP (Great Plains), SQL Administration, HP Proliant Servers, HP/Lefthand P4000 SAN, Windows 7 and XP, Macintosh, MS Office Suite, Visio, Project
- Excellent demonstration of communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn and grow within an Information Technology career path
- Experience in heterogeneous environments is a must
- Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
