The Network Analyst is as an advanced technical resource with responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading enterprise network and server infrastructure in a state-of-the-art global technology environment.


Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

 

                    Design, configure, administer, monitor and troubleshoot complex Windows and Linux enterprise environment for communications and solution improvements within the Company*s high-traffic, business-critical Internet production environment.

                    Monitor system performance and provide security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance, as needed.

                    Acquire, maintain and report on data related to network performance management, capacity planning and utilization trend analysis.

                    Support entire network infrastructure including phones, printers, scanners, backup systems, and peripheral devices

                    Develop and implement plans for infrastructure upgrades, technology assessments, and solutions

                    Specify and procure networking and/or computer equipment

                    Provide after-hours support for systems and applications

                    Environment: Multi-platform: Windows / Linux / Apache; Heavily Virtualized 70-75%; 50 Terabytes Database Storage

 

 

Primary Duties:

                    Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.

                    Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.

                    Analyze design, test, and evaluate network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, Intranet, and other data communications systems.

                    Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

                    Work with complex network and storage environments including SAN, clustering, load balancing, multi-site VPNs, network IDS, and firewalls.

                    Collaborate with other functional IT areas to ensure that IT best practices, policies, and procedures are adhered to. Provide technical support for staff issues.

 

Qualifications:

                    2+ years working at the Enterprise-Level: Larger than 1,000 PCs and 500 Servers (multi-platform)

                    4+ years working with Linux

                    4+ years working with Windows

                    4+ years working with network server applications including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, databases, web servers, and FTP servers

                    2+ years with configuring and supporting IP networks

                    2+ years in setup, configuration and maintenance of networking infrastructure including Cisco switches and routers, VPN technologies, T1 and other WAN administration

                    Global Active Directory

                    Strong fundamental knowledge of networks, ports, protocols, and infrastructure setup

                    In-depth knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures - relies on knowledge, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

                    Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of both communicating with IT team members as well as other departments

                    Ability to take initiative manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

                    Organizational, project management abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education/Training:

                    Bachelor's Degree: CIS Computer Information Systems; Information Technology, Computer Science or similar
