Our client is currently looking for a Housing Officer to provide comprehensive tenancy services to the tenants and leaseholders.

 

You will provide generic housing management services with a high level of customer services.  Your duties will include rent arrears and lettings and allocations through choice based lettings.  You will also be responsible for investigating cases of antisocial behaviour and neighbour nuisance and to take appropriate action to resolve such cases, including action plans, monitoring and recommending legal action to the Tenancy Services Manager.

 

As the Housing Officer you will carry out regular estate inspections, including communal areas and take appropriate action for their maintenance and improvement. Liaising with the maintenance team and property services you will ensure all homes remain in good repair.

 

Additionally all officers are expected to undergo designated training sessions as necessary, which may be out of normal working hours and/or at other establishments.

 

The successful candidate will be educated to an A level standard, ideally with a degree and a membership of a relevant professional body (CIOH). Previous experience in a housing related organisation either as an employee or student placement is essential. An understanding of the role of Housing Associations in the context of the wider housing market along with knowledge of basic housing legislation is also crucial for this role.

 

Due to the nature of this role it is essential to have flexibility within the working environment and the ability to travel between schemes, sites and offices. You may also be required to carry out home visits therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
