Experienced Analyst required to join our Front office team responsible for conflict clearing and coordinating the KYC process for all new IBD transactions in EMEA. The position requires heavy interface with banking staff, Legal and Compliance, Client Onboarding and colleagues in other regional Conflict Clearance Units (CCU).
This role provides support to the IBD EMEA Regional Business Management team with main responsibilities to include:
- Understanding the nature of the IBD business and reviewing a variety of IBD transactions (including MA, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Global Syndicated Finance) for conflicts of interest.
- Conducting conflict checks by searching various databases, and analysing hits with the view to identifying potential, legal, regulatory, compliance and or reputional risks.
- Working with Legal, Compliance and the relevant Business Heads for resolution of identified risks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Managing files independently and conferring with senior members within the team on complex conflict issues.
- Coordinating the KYC and account opening process for new clients where necessary.
- Recording and documenting conflict clearance and KYC approvals, and maintaining internal databases.
- Prioritising workload to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Promoting ideas for process improvement, and assisting in their implementation.
- Participating in ad-hoc and ongoing projects related to new business approvals.
Requirements:
- Degree level education, either in Finance or Law
- Previous relevant experience in a large financial services or legal firm with prior Front office banking exposure highly advantageous.
- Must have exposure to “Conflicts of Interest” principles, KYC and Compliance.
- Working knowledge of corporate finance and lending transactions
- Ability to responsibly handle and manage confidential information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain complicated concepts in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure varying commercial deadlines are met
- Strong relationship building and diplomatic skills
- Ability to work well in a close and interdependent team
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, with ability to quickly up skill on other databases and software
