Experienced candidate required to join our EMEA New Issues Ops team, which forms part of the Securities Settlements. The New Issues team directly support the business of Equity and Debt Capital Markets, providing settlement solutions and mechanisms to manage the primary issuance of equity, GDR, convertible bonds and debt securities and follow-on transactions for corporate issuers and vendors.
The successful individual will work closely with the Equity Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets trading desks and many other stakeholders within Operations and other parts of the IB as well as external counterparts including IPAs, depositaries, external legal counsel and local agents. The role requires the individual to manage and co-ordinate all operational aspects of various deal structures (e.g. IPOs, Block Trades, new bond issues), including the clarification of reporting requirements, security creation, booking flow, funding, proceeds and fee flows and settlement of the securities from both an issuer and investor perspective.
Key aspects of the role:
- Assessing information about each of the transactions to understand the front to back settlement flows.
- Assessing risks at each stage of a deal and understanding the control and compliance requirements for them.
- Discussing settlement flows with internal and external parties.
- Management of the receipt of securities and cash flows associated with the issuer/vendor settlement.
- Participating in team objectives and improvements.
- This is an excellent opportunity to interface with a wide cross section of internal and external clients and parties and to see a varied and niche part of the Business.
Requirements:
- Previous Operations exposure to Equity and Debt Capital Market transactions (Debt issuance, IPOs, Block trades, Rights Issues etc) coupled with a thorough understanding of European Equity Settlements or Equity Corporate Actions from within an Investment bank is essential.
- Confident in consolidating relationships with business areas that support the ECM and DCM flow e.g. Client Support / Data Mgmt / Trade Support / Settlements / Legal / Credit and Sales; working to understand specific needs of their clients.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the ECM and DCM flows in order to assist internal and external clients/investors with issues and queries.
- Ability to understand “front to back” Equity and Debt trade flows from an Operations perspective - looking for improvements to current processes that will generate efficiencies for the team/business
