NEW ORLEANS, LA - Senior Coastal Engineer

Job Description AECOM is seeking a talented and motivated individual to be our Senior Coastal Engineer in our Baton Rouge, LA, or New Orleans, LA office. You will lead projects related to coastal restoration, beach nourishment, shoreline protection, dredging, coastal structures, coastal hazard analyses, hydrodynamic modeling, coastal process analyses, and floodplain mapping. This role will also include support planning, engineering, design, construction, and monitoring of shoreline restoration projects, marine structures, and mitigation studies or projects. You'll serve as a technical resource as well as directly contribute to the technical delivery of the project deliverables and participate in project decisions regarding technical approach, cost, scheduling, and performance including; planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff. AECOM's coastal engineers are working on some of the most significant coastal and ocean projects on the planet. They are meeting the challenges of working in the harsh marine environment from the high arctic to the deep tropics where they deal daily with highly dynamic live loads, massive lateral wind and seismic loads, poor soils, intense sedimentation, corrosion and a sensitive ecosystem with variable water levels, heavy seas, and constant shoreline movement. AECOM's Louisiana team is working on not only the largest coastal ecosystem restoration effort in the world, but is also heavily involved with the responses of the engineering community to the challenges of hurricane protection in this highly vulnerable region. Qualifications: BS or MS degree (with an emphasis in coastal, ocean, or marine engineering). Minimum of 10+ years of related experience. Registered as a PE in Louisiana or work towards obtaining registration within six months. Project management experience required. Must be able to lead a team of engineers and technicians, train/mentor younger staff, and coordinate with client and regulatory agencies.
