New Product Approval Manager wanted for Global Investment Bank – £500 per day recruitment

 This role will be based in London and to be successful in such a position you must have the following:-

• Build strong relationships with the front office and support risk functions by demonstrating strong product knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the associated end to end processes.

•Demonstrate strong value add by actively facilitating product approval.  This would involve actively engaging with the stakeholders to ensure all governance/control aspects are addressed in a timely manner and without compromising time to market.   

•Ensure audit trail of approval is maintained in accordance with Business Unit requirements.

•Undertake administrative tasks such as updating the approved product database, Product under development register, minute taking (if required).

•Ensure quality, consistency and timeliness of approval documentation as well as appropriate record keeping / effectiveness of controls within the team as New Product Approval process is a key SOX control and an area of interest for the FSA.

•Organise and facilitate post implementation and annual product reviews.

•Support other Governance Control areas in delivering their objectives, e.g. be flexible and willing to perform control documentation, control testing, project support if requested.

•Identify personal development needs (technical soft skills) to successfully embed Product Governance.

Experience Required:-

•Prior experience in Product Governance

•Excellent understanding of capital markets, including securitisation, primary bond markets, syndication, structured corporate finance.

•In depth understanding of end-to-end processes for capital markets (e.g. Settlement, liquidity, Business Control, Market and Credit Risk).

•Ability to assess the impact of New Products on downstream processes.

•Product governance, Internal or external audit, risk management or business experience in capital markets including securitisation, bond markets, structured corporate finance and liquidity management;

•Application of the above technical capabilities to influence and successfully challenge management to achieve effective governance and sound control frameworks.
