New Product Approval Specialist

The purpose of role is to lead the team’s agenda in the region primarily to consider and address key risks associated with the introduction of new products or services and/or adaptations to existing products. This will require the role holder to develop a strong risk partnership with senior management and provide both constructive challenge and leadership in the identification and mitigation of risk issues. The role holder will also be expected to play a significant role enhancing the new products approval process.

Core Accountabilities:

• Independent oversight and assessment of risk issues associated with new products, or significant changes to existing products with a  special focus on the America’s.

• Co-ordination of the new products approval process and delivering governance around introduction of new products within infrastructure areas

• Partnership with client facing, product development) and infrastructure areas to resolve product-related issues

• Chairing/leading relevant governance for NPA process Development and continuous improvement of the new business approval process in line with global standards of excellence

• Supporting global head and leading reviews and projects aimed at improving the current process and in achieving an ambitious 2012 plan set for the team

• Ensuring approval conditions and associated actions related to new product approval are monitored and met

Key stakeholders for this position are found across Infrastructure, Global Business and Investment Services teams, predominantly at MD and D levels.

Role requirements

The successful candidate will be of degree caliber and have strong experience in product control/product development/product governance in wealth management. They will have a good level of exposure to understanding risk control framework and operational risk management. Strong stakeholder management experience and a proven track record of managing through change will also be beneficial as will strong project management expertise including solid experience of effecting change and implementing global controls
