We are currently looking for a New Products Marketing Manager for our home office in Brevard, NC. The New Products Marketing Manager plays a vital role in the long-term value of Gaia Herbs. The New Products Marketing Manager is the core driver of the New Products Launch Process (NPLP) and the authoritative lead in seeing an average of 15 to 20 projects per year move from idea generation phase through feasibility to readiness and launch. This individual is responsible for identifying, investigating, recommending and gaining internal approval for new product plans, updating the plans as appropriate, and leading the execution of the plans from initial recommendation to ship-to-trade. The New Product Marketing Manager develops the Marketing Plan for each item selected for launch and oversees the implementation of all tactics, including, but not limited to in-store demos, point-of-sale materials, trade and consumer collateral, and more. The New Products Marketing Manager works closely with Gaia’s in-house Creative Services team, and occasionally with outside design resources, to develop packaging and trade and consumer support materials that support the new item launch. The New Products Marketing Manager also interacts extensively with Executive Management, Plant Operations, RD, QA/Regulatory, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Consumer affairs, and more while moving the projects through their phases of implementation.
This position will also be responsible for:
· Be the lead Project Manager guiding new product activities for Gaia Herbs. This includes running effective meetings, documenting decisions, driving timetables, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional departments.
· Ensure that all phases of the Gaia Herbs New Products Launch Process are followed, from bi-annual idea generation sessions to post-launch assessments.
· Develop, recommend, and execute marketing plans for assigned products and manage the deployment of the marketing budget
· Create and validate a 3-year plan for presentation to Executive Management that will drive Gaia’s long-term new products efforts.
· Maintain consistent interaction with internal and outside stakeholders to manage smooth new product introductions
· Participate in the development of copy strategies and creative executions related to packaging, trade consumer collateral, sales materials, and new product launch trainings.
· Work closely with Regulatory and Legal resources to ensure compliance of product packaging claims and written consumer materials, within DSHEA guidelines
· Recommend and gain internal approval for new product launch plans, updating the plans as appropriate, and leading the execution of the plans, from initial recommendation to trade and consumer launch
· Develop strategies for sub-brands and new brands within the context of the agreed strategies to maximize long term sales and profitability
- In cooperation with the Sales team, identify trade needs/opportunities and develop pricing plans, distribution strategies, and trade promotions for new products
- Work collaboratively with internal and external market research experts to identify Gaia product trends, consumer and customer insights, new product trends, and product portfolio opportunities that can serve as the basis for long term brand growth.
· Contribute to the development and execution of annual marketing plan activities
· Be a cooperative team player for other corporate marketing activities and events including trade shows, conferences, media events, on-site retailer trainings, and more.

The qualifications for this position are:
· The ideal candidate will have 7 – 10 years’ experience in developing and executing new product plans within the marketing department of a CONSUMER PACKAGED GOODS COMPANY.
· Natural Products industry experience is a plus, but not necessary
· A proven record of creating and executing successful new product programs, within budget
· Must be a self-starter and highly motivated, able to work independently and with little structure
· Must be able to articulately communicate – in writing and verbally, their vision and ideas
· Ability and willingness to advocate strongly for consumer-centric viewpoint
· Proven ability to handle multiple projects, work under deadlines and manage change
· Proven ability to establish goals, set clear expectations, prioritize activities and follow-through with timely execution in cross-functional team environment
· Strategic thinking and leadership in a cross-functional environment
· Proficient in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
· Excellent interpersonal/collaboration/relationship-building skills
· MBA or BS in Marketing or Business with demonstrated Marketing concentration
· Some travel for field visits and trade shows will be required, but is a small part of the position
