Posted Position Title: New Products Program Purchasing Manager Career Level: Experienced Function Sourcing Function Segment: Sourcing Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Kentucky City: Louisville Postal Code: 40225-0001 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: GE is investing $1 BILLION dollars to redesign our entire appliance line. The PPM will play a leading role in Big Room or Obeya collaborative team efforts to turn imaginative ideas into world-class consumer appliances that solve the problems of today. The PPM will work together with RD, operations, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing specialists and, as GE's Mission One Team, take new consumer products from concept to production. Essential Responsibilities " Become integral member of New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Team, taking sourcing ownership of assigned Mission 1 programs from concept to launch, using Lean principles to support on-time and on-budget implementation " Drive cost out efforts of assigned NPI programs as necessary to insure NPI programs launch well below committed costs " Work with NPI Program Managers to develop reliable cost and schedule estimates " Work with commodity sourcing leaders to develop and release timely, high quality, error-free quote packages for NPI components " Represent Purchasing in all sourcing, technical, and program reviews " Leverage Technology teams and NPI programs to support sourcing/commodity strategies as set out by the Commodity Business Teams " Maintain traceability and accountability to cost and schedule estimates as programs progress, reporting out regularly to Sourcing leadership " Lead resolutions to any NPI issues related to suppliers. " Review/approve all Business Change Notices and drawings for sourcing, release purchase orders that impact assigned NPI programs Qualifications/Requirements: " Bachelors degree or equivalent experience " Minimum 3 years of Sourcing and/or Supply Chain experience. " Change agent with outstanding facilitative leadership and problem solving skills " Demonstrated high energy, aggressive self-starter, team player with a strong desire to win " Strong project/program management experience and track record " Excellent oral communication, written communication, and analytical skills Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
