On the job training and in-house lecturing will help bring you up to speed quickly giving a detailed understanding of a number of product areas and exposure to Risk, Tax, Treasury and senior management. Extensive liaison with the trading desk is also required as well as with colleagues in other controlling teams.

This function has increasingly become a key focus for controlling and understanding the trading activities of the front office business. Ever increasing technicality, strategy and decision making, requires a commercially minded individual with a good technical understanding of the product classes.

Main responsibilities;

• Preparation of pricing reviews and valuation of positions held by the desk using daily PL.

• Analysis of the accounting system and production of management information for senior business leaders.

• Analysis of risk on trading positions with regards to market, compliance and other influencing factors.

• Review of trading activity, identification of incorrect trade bookings and understanding of anomalies or unusual events and providing this information to management

• Extensive product knowledge and understanding of market changes and advising the front office business of this information and specialist data

• Month end requirements and close process to post to the general ledger.

Desired Skills Experience

• Newly Qualified Accountant within the financial services audit environment, preferred but not limited to.

• Strong academics required, an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline: e.g. financial engineering, mathematics, physics, or engineering.

• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to interact with senior management and other departments

• Knowledge to challenge the valuation methodologies
