NHS Procurement Officer Job in City Of London, London UK

Our client, a prestigious specialist hospital based in the City of London, is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer with previous experience of working within the NHS to work on an ongoing contract.

The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role within the Procurement department with duties including but not limited to:
- Assisting the Procurement and Supply Manager in a range of purchasing and supply related projects
- Preparing specifications, draft tenders and quotation documentation in accordance with the Trust procedures and EU Legislation
- Issuing tenders in a timely manner
- Analysing/Evaluating quotations and tender returns and make recommendations for contract award
- Managing the competitive quotation and tender process including attending meetings, arranging product evaluations, analysis of offers, planning and undertaking effective negotiation, and compiling recommendation reports for approval
- Identifying and reporting cost savings
- Maintaining purchase order system
- Ensuring deliveries of capital equipment are achieved to the required dates and disposal of surplus and obsolete goods are completed economically and in line with Trust instructions

The successful candidate will have worked in a Procurement Department within an NHS environment in the past as an understanding of the culture is imperative. They will be required to be well presented with excellent communication skills and be organised as working to deadlines is a key part of this role.
