We are the UK's leading Premium Express Delivery Company providing high quality, flexible and innovative courier services across the UK, Ireland and Worldwide. We are currently recruiting for the role of Night Shift Manager based in our Basingstoke depot, working Monday to Friday, Midnight to 09:00. The successful candidate will run the shift in line with the depot business plan, company values, external regulatory requirements and all relevant policies and procedures.

The key elements of the role are:

- Monitors KPIs on a designated shift and takes action to address any issues
- Manages resources to optimise business results
- Assesses key operational risks on shift and takes action to mitigate them
- Monitors costs, especially variable costs to ensure that they are effectively controlled and reported accurately
- Helps find operational solutions to meet customer needs
- Ensures customer care team on shift provide an excellent service
- Keeps customers informed of any delays or difficulties that might affect their business
- Ensures that staffing requirements for the shift is managed to target
- Selects, appraises and develops team
- Ensures that there are training plans in place to sustain competent performance
- Creates an environment in which staff feel motivated to do their best work
- Ensures effective communication within the shift and handovers
- Consults with staff regarding planned changes
- Recognizes and rewards high performance within the company benefits structure
- Ensures compliance with all relevant HR, Security, Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Ensures that vehicles, uniforms and staff behaviour reflect the company's customer care values
- Oversees facilities to ensure that they are maintained to a high standard

Ideal Back Shift Manager will have the following skills/attributes:

- Knowledge of managing shifts and warehouse environments
- Line management of teams and individuals
- Focus on motivating and developing the team
- Drive for continuous improvement and proactive problem solving

Experience of the Parcel Industry and GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths would be desirable.
