Night Shift Warehouse Manager
NYC Distribution Company servicing the Northeast seeks Night Shift Warehouse Manager.
The qualified independent, energetic candidate must possess outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact well with customers and all team members. In addition, the Night Warehouse Manager is responsible for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of all picking, shipping, receiving and related activities during the 2nd shift.
Duties:
§ Manages, directs and oversees supervisors, clerical and union personnel who are assigned to the night shift, to ensure accurate and maximum performance of their duties/ responsibilities/ job functions.
§ Ensures that all tasks, activities and operations which are carried out in the night shift are coordinated with corresponding daytime duties and activities.
§ Effectively and in a timely manner communicates with the Warehouse Director, Transportation Director and other daytime personnel regarding any issues, exceptions or problems occurring on the 2nd shift.
§ Controls work-flow for the night shift, including assignment of loads to be audited; distribution of selection documents; proper loading of trucks; assurance of orderly wrap-up of shift; etc.
§ Monitors productivity and scheduling of personnel.
§ Ensures that customer orders are filled and placed on trucks in the proper order as described in Loading Procedures.
§ Handles all administrative tasks required to properly manage the shift or as assigned by senior management.
§ Responsible for training of personnel
§ Maintain safe work environment.
§ Secures the building every night by setting and checking the alarm.
§ Other duties as may be assigned by the VP of Operations.
Qualifications:
§ A high school education or its equivalent and some college courses in industrial management, or a related field from an accredited community college, or equivalent work experience.
§ Minimum of five years of work experience in a warehouse/ distribution setting
§ Minimum of 3-5 year of supervisory experience in a warehouse/distribution setting. hr.distributionco@gmail.com
