NOC Engineer
My client a leading IT Networking company require a transmission NOC engineer based near Staines, starting immediately or would wait for notice.
Shift worker, Huawei and Nortel DWDM SDH, Huawei Ethernet plus site management using my clients own building management system.
Essential:
Network Operations Centre or significant support experience (2 years)
Significant "Hands-On" experience of Transmission networks (Nortel and Huawei)
"Hands-On" experience of site, plant and fibre-related issues.
• Initial Point of Contact for all incoming fault calls for my clients Customers.
• Responsible for performing surveillance and proactive support of all devices within my clients International Network including but not limited to:
• SDH/DWDM/CWDM transmission equipment (Nortel and Huawei),
• Environmental systems (SMS)
• Ethernet network (Huawei)
• DCN / internal network (Cisco)
• Will have full access to all devices on the network therefore must be sufficiently competent to configure and troubleshoot these devices
• Responsible for incident resolution within predetermined time frames and identifying and forwarding the problem to third level analysis for further investigation and action.
• Responsible for organising, arranging and coordinating all planned works activities including customer notifications
• Arrange site access in absence of Site Access Coordinator
• The role is shift based but may also involve some day-working
• Applicant must be enthusiastic and passionate about all aspects of networking and will have to rapidly come up to speed on new technologies as they are introduced into the clients.
Desirable:
• "Hands-On" experience of (Cisco) IP networks
• Knowledge of Huawei Ethernet networks
12 hour shifts, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off. Around £32.5K-£33K+20% shift
Based near Staines and location is accessible to the train station.
