NOC Technician Job in Bedminster, New Jersey US

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Network Operations Center Technician on a contract opportunity with a leading telecommunications company in Bedminster, NJ

In this position candidates will be responsible for testing wireless alarms, responding to environmental alerts from cell site equipment sent to NOC for responses, communicating with field technicians testing cell site equipment, power related alarms, fire detection, door intrusion and fault manangement. This position is either first, second, or third shift and the candidate must also be open to working on weekends.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associates degree REQUIRED
Specific Experience: experience with cellular, UNIX and some Help Desk Experience

Basic training and/or coursework in at least 2 of the following areas: data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, project management, and/or power.

Specific Technology: PC skills, MS Office
CCNA a plus
Soft Skills: excellent interpersonal and phone communication skills
The Network Operations Center (NOC) is a fast-paced, dynamic organization, which is seeking a highly motivated, detailed-oriented individual, to assist the organization in performing network alarm verifications.
This position requires an individual that can effectively multi-task, and re-arrange priorities as needed:
• Primary contact for testing of remote network elements into the monitoring systems of the NOC.
• Utilize fault management tools including: NetExpert (VSM), Xpercom/Xng, and Remedy, to prepare checklists to record testing sessions.
• Maintain compliance with the Network Directive for testing standards.
• Determine Fault Group and document reasons for faults in failed tests.
• Route failed testing checklists to responsible parties for resolution.
• Attend and actively participate in Alarm testing meetings.

MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 2 YR ASSOCIATES DEGREE
