As a key member of our Aerospace team in Townsville, Queensland, as the Non Destructive Technician (NDT) you will be responsible for the completion of non destructive tests, the development of non destructive testing procedures and the provision of assistance with materials failure investigations in accordance with supplied work instructions, aircraft and component publication, drawings and quality procedures.

This challenging role will see you:

• Responsible for conducting and reporting on NDT of aircraft/aircraft components equipment in accordance with the correct documentation and within authorisations
• Managing the development of NDT procedures for issue as special technical instructions  or as engineering variation authorities or as routine inspections
• Liaising with appropriate Aircraft Coordinators to ascertain non-destructive and materials testing priorities and task requirements to achieve target completion dates
• Complying with all safety, health and environment policies and procedures associated with NDT and aeronautical products
• Maintaining facility assets, NDT equipment and tool boards/composite tool kits to ensure NDT tooling is maintained to the highest standards
• Initiating non-conformance reports and process improvement notices, while investigating, researching and implementing corrective actions
• Liaising with Production Support Supervisor and/or Team Leaders for the introduction of new or revised procedures

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an aerospace/aircraft maintenance environment
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills (mechanical, avionics or structures) and Level 2 NDT Technician in accordance with AS 3669 including; Fluorescent Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2, Eddy Current Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Testing Level 2
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues
• Strong interpersonal, motivational and team skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, health and environment policies and procedures
