Independent Non-Medical Prescriber

Hays Healthcare is now recruiting a qualified NMP / Independent Non-Medical Prescriber to work in HM Prison services, supporting prisons with drug and alcohol misuse. I have positions available in West Yorkshire, Liverpool and Durham.

As part of your role you will work within a medical team and in conjunction with GP’s to deliver high quality, personalised care. You will also need to be able to work autonomously and have a strong awareness of the social context of drug misuse and patient behaviour in order to offer sound clinical and psychosocial advice. This rewarding role will allow you to offer support and help motivate service users through all stages of their individual recovery journey. By independently prescribing medication in line with set recovery plans, this will ensure patients receive a fast, more efficient service with improved continuity of care.

Essential skills:
• Previous experience of working with substance misuse clients
• Previous experience of assessing clients and prescribing safely
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues, the public and local authorities such as the Police, probation and courts
• Flexibility and reliability
• You must be a qualified nurse (RGN/RMN)
• You must be registered with the NMC and have a valid, up to date pin
• Hold a V100, V200 or V300 qualification
• At least 6 months experience as an Independent Non-Medical Supplementary Prescriber
