Provide 1st level monitoring support for 24x7x365 global network operations security center (NOSC). Identify and respond to threats in the environment, as per the established procedures. Create tickets and follow-up as necessary until resolution. Deliver monitoring and incident reports, as required to support the overall program.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st level monitoring support for 24x7x365 global monitoring center
- Monitor and Analyze events,
- Determine potential threat (or production outage)
- Decide course of action and respond to the events
- Create tickets for the events, and follow-up until resolution
- Research and escalate high severity / complex situations
- Ensure that significant focus is paid on Monitoring and Detection
- Deliver monitoring and incident reports
- Raising Problem Management tickets for potential events observed, with accurate type/tiering of incident fields.
- Classification of observed event is in line with set guidelines
- Completeness of Analysis and Diagnosis of observed events
- Correctness of recommended action from NOSC
- Respond to incidents
- Research, Determine and Assist with investigations
- Assist with maintaining related documentation and diagrams
- Review internal and external bulletins to maintain awareness
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· Minimum one year professional experience in a network monitoring or security monitoring role in a global Network Security Operations Center or Two years of strong experience in Network or Security Infrastructure support roles
· Security monitoring systems (intrusion detection, security information event management)
· Network devices (firewalls, routers, switches)
· Network protocols (TCP/IP, EIGRP, IGRP, RIP, OSPF,BGP)
· Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
· Cisco Certificatiion (any certification)
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· Helpdesk experience
· Cisco certifications
· Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
· Microsoft certifications
· Red Hat certifications
· Sun Microsystems certifications
