JOB DESCRIPTION
POSTION: NPI Senior Assembler
STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: MFG Engineering Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To build complete first article assemblies from customer documentation, or for engineering prototypes.
· Maintain engineering documentation.
· Maintain schedule required by engineering/production.
· Meeting/exceeding NPI capacity timeframes.
· Complying with company policy and procedures.
SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, understand and build cable assemblies per drawings and specifications or engineering instructions.
- Must have a basic knowledge of quality and industries standards for ISO 9001-2008 and IPC-A620.
- Must be able to use hand tools and have a good understanding of Molex and Tyco applicators/presses.
- Strong with soldering and crimping per IPC-A620 and MIL specs. soldering.
- Familiar with potting, epoxy, RTV and ultrasonic welding.
- Must be able to collect information from the first article built to create manufacturing instructions.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENT:
- AA/AS or at least 5 years experience with building cable harness assemblies.
- Computer literature with Microsoft word, excel and Epicor ERP is a plus.
