The Nurse Educator in Critical Care participates in structuring and evaluating the individualized orientation program for new employees, and provides courses to meet basic requirements for individual departments, educational sessions for staff based on identified needs of staff, and competency validation for members of the Nursing Department. This position is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of educational measures implemented for the purpose of improving patient outcomes through communication with managers and nursing staff.
ICU experience is required
Experience with care of heart surgical patients preferred
Staff development experience preferred
Education: Nursing graduate from an approved school for registered nurses. BSN required, MSN or Masters in Health Education preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Maintain appropriate clinical certification
- BLS Instructor
- Membership in professional organization encouraged
