Nurse Educator-Staten Island/Manhattan
Health care
1. Organizes programs for nursing personnel, which encompasses orientation, staff development and continuing education programs.
2. Coordinates, conducts and evaluates programs that will assist in meeting the educational needs of nursing personnel.
3. Plans programs based on identified learning needs, medical center objectives and regulatory agency requirements.
4. Communicates and collaborates with nursing unit leadership in planning new patient care programs.
5. Collaborates with nursing leadership to provide input into the evaluation of staff performance and readiness to assume staff responsibilities.
6. Facilitates the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nursing personnel for each assigned clinical area.
7. Institutes and maintains professional liaison with appropriate internal and external groups.
8. Translates relevant research findings and collaborates with nursing leadership to incorporate findings into nursing practice.
9. Provides input into nursing education budget formulation. Assists nursing staff in the delivery of efficient, cost effective care.
10. Participates on performance improvement teams/projects.
11. Performs related duties, as required.
· Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required. Master's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
· Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
· Minimum of two (2) years experience in a relevant clinical area.
· Evidence of teaching, leadership, and basic research skills.
