Position: Nurse Manager (Band 7)
Salary: Circa £41,000 per annum / pro rata (30 hours per week)
Location: Salford / Bolton (Greater Manchester)
Reports to: Service Manager

Hays Healthcare are proud to be partnering the UK’s premier provider of free confidential sexual health services and advice to young adults. They have an opening for the position of Nurse Manager to be based in the North West, specifically servicing the communities of Salford and Bolton.

Job Role Key Accountabilities:

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for efficient and effective running of the nursing and clinical services, including the effective leadership of nursing staff within the specific cluster or group of services within the defined area. This role will encompass a ratio of 60% managerial and 40% clinical duties.
Whilst not an exhaustive list, detailed below are some of the key responsibilities of the position (A full breakdown will happily be communicated to interested candidates):

• Responsible for ensuring clinical services are focused on the needs of young people within their service area.
• To be the “Designated Safeguarding Lead” and CQC Registered Manager within their service area.
• Responsible for the daily coordination and supervision of clinics and rota.
• To ensure nurses and clinic workers are working within the clinical governance framework and are clinically competent.
• Responsibility for overseeing of systems and processes that enable valid and reliable recording of clinical performance data / contract data within their service area.
• Responsible for conducting audits as directed by the Service Manager, Regional Nurse Lead and Head of Nursing / Clinical Director.

Person Specification:

Interested candidates should please consider the following requirements prior to application:

Essential:

• Hold a current NMC registration.
• Relevant Qualifications in contraception.
• Senior nurse management experience.
• Up to date knowledge and experience of sexual health policies and practice.
• Experience of managing and developing operational clinical services.
• Experience of leading and motivating staff through major service change.
• Willingness to work towards general nurse education teaching qualifications or equivalent.

Desirable:

• Experience of the commissioning process, of developing strategic relationships, overseeing bidding and tenders processes and supporting new services.
• Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary professional and clinical teams.
• Experience of financial/budget management.
• Able to undertake clinical service reviews and analysis of business plans and tenders.
