It is comprised of The Cambridge Hospital, Somerville Hospital, Whidden Memorial Hospital, the Cambridge Public Health Department, more than 20 primary care practices and Network Health - a statewide managed Medicaid health plan.
Whidden Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a busy community hospital, offering inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital operates 112-beds and provides intensive care, telemetry, mental health, and medical-surgical services. WMH has a three (3) room OR and one (1) endoscopy room. A 24-hour emergency service is also on site. Outpatient care at this campus includes surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, specialty care, primary care, and mental health programs.
The Nurse Manager Off -Shift Operations is the administrator on site during his/her shift. He/She is responsible for all patient placement and throughput in the hospital and coordinates the placement of all admissions and transfer in accordance with the clinical standards and guidelines.
The OSM supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing department personnel as well as has oversight of patient care activities throughout the campus. He/she liaisons with other Nurse Managers at the other two Cambridge Health Alliance hospitals. As necessary the OSM interprets department policies and procedures, investigates and addresses concerns from patients, visitors and nursing personnel and personnel from other disciplines. Reports are generated as required to ensure appropriate communication.
BSN required. Minimum of 2-4 years Med/Surg and Critical Care experience. Mental Health experience desireable. Current MA Licensure required.
