Founded in 1952 and beginning formal operations in 1959, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center is a 225-bed, non-profit acute care facility providing a full range of services to residents in Geauga, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake, Portage and Trumbull counties in Northeast Ohio. Our Womens Health Center has the 24/7 back up of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Childrens neonatologists, physicians and 24-hour OB house officer staff.

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.Essential duties include: Patient documentation; Direct patient care/assessment; Medication administration; Discharge planning, community resource referral and education; Actively participates in the quality improvement process.Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers.Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
Position Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
License Requirements:
Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Ohio
