Nurse Ultrasonographer - PRN

A Registered Nurse who is responsible for the nursing care of the antepartum patient receiving fetal monitoring and Ultrasound studies. The Ultrasonographer Nurse role will include: providing individualized care for the antepartum patient by correlating clinical history with fetal monitoring and Ultrasound studies. The Ultrasonographer Nurse consults with referring physicians regarding fetal monitoring and Ultrasound studies. The Ultrasonographer Nurse prepares patients for procedures involved during fetal monitoring and ultrasound studies. The Ultrasonographer Nurse maintaining appropriate documentation. Expected to rotate to the core hospitals to perform Ultrasound studies on inpatients as needed. Essential Functions: - Utilizes assessment skills in performing comprehensive antepartum fetal monitoring testing and ultrasound studies. These techniques include: Non-stress Test (NST), Contraction Stress Test (CST), Acoustic Stimulation, Level III Ultrasound to assess fetal growth and anomaly studies, Doppler Flow Studies and Biophysical Profiles. - Collaborates with other health care providers in assessing patients health care needs. - Assesses and identifies learning needs of patients their significant others. - Demonstrates an ability to anticipate and prioritize health care management needs and report/record abnormal diagnostic data. - Assesses educational opportunities for self and participates in educational programs to maintain-quality nursing care. - Assesses physician referrals for appointments schedules. - Monitor payroll and non-payroll expenditures to ensure compliance within budgetary guidelines. - Oversee preparation of timesheets. - Collaborates with other health care providers in formulating plans for the antepartum patient. - Prepares patient and significant others for procedures. - Schedules appointment for antepartum fetal monitoring and ultrasound studies. - Provides care for the antepartum patient while doing the following procedures: NST, CST, Acoustic Stimulation, Level III Ultrasound, Biophysical Profiles and Doppler Flow Studies. - Documents results of testing in patients charts. - Complies with standards established by accrediting agencies. - Identifies and interprets physiological and psychological needs of patients and takes appropriate action. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Georgia RN License. - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN. - A minimum of 1 year ofexperience in OB/GYN. - Familiarity with use and interpretation of quantitative statistical reports and analysis. - Complete a Customer Service Assessment. - American Heart Association BLS certification required. Preferred Qualifications: - A minimum of 1 year ofexperience in High Risk OB/GYN preferably Maternal Fetal Medicine. - Word processing software and IRCS mainframe user applications preferred. - Familiarity with telephones, PCs, queuing theory, forecasting, and scheduling desirable. - Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment.
