Senior Web Services Developer
The Media team develops large scale, high traffic consumer services used by tens of millions of users on mobile devices all over the world. We are looking for a Senior Web Services Developer to join our growing team.
Our engineers work on challenges that are simply not available at most other companies. We do performance optimization for millions of users, mobile network content delivery, localization into dozens of languages, database query tuning, payment transactions, and more every day.
Key responsibility areas include:
Hands-on design and develop web services APIs for use in client's variety of mobile services
Also develops front-end UI components for web applications
Work with Product Management to conceive features and use cases
Participates in service functional specification, design, and feature integration with other services
Writes and maintains service application code, frameworks, libraries, APIs and documentation
Participates in error review, system integration, and release activites
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
Solid experience in developing object-oriented systems using Java technologies including Spring, Hibernate, and Tomcat on Linux platforms
Experience with front-end web technologies including html, css, Javascript with jQuery
Experience with database design and implementation, Oracle preferred including stored procedures and triggers
Understanding of SOA and RESTful API design and implementation
Experience developing mobile services a plus
Excellent understanding of Agile development methods, particularly SCRUM and Test Driven Development. Proven ability to work in distributed teams desirable.
