Temporary Team Leader - Maternity Cover

This position is to cover maternity leave for 9 months, with the possibility of extending this dependant on business and the individual.
Job Purpose
You will be working in a busy Sales Office coordinating, improving and developing daily output activity. You will be providing a high level of customer service, identifying training requirements to enable the team to fulfil its role to the best of its ability.
Main Responsibilities
· To manage a team of 8 sales staff
· To ensure that all staff are fulfilling and exceeding customers expectations
· To ensure that all staff deal effectively and efficiently will all customers’ prices, order and stock enquiries and provide a high level of customer service, working to the “right first time” principle.
· Recognising opportunities for new business and the further development of existing business to increase sales turnover and develop company profitability
· To ensure that all your team as second nature, link sells and assists in closing sales at every possible opportunity
· To empower the team to feel confident in dealing with customer enquires
· To recognise and address any training needs required by the team.
· To encourage and build relationships with all internal customers
· To communicate to the exactly what is expected of individuals in terms of personal achievement and when undertaking specific projects or tasks. Including monthly performance reviews.
· To keep the Sales Director informed of team achievements and areas for improvement, to allow continuous improvement principles to be adhered to.
· To ensure a high level of Customer service is provided.
· To ensure targets are achieved in a timely and effective manner
· To analyse data and look for potential improvements in either systems or data collated
· To adhere to and implement, company policy and to carry out any other duties that many be deemed suitable by either your Manager or a Director.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will:
· Have managed a team of 8 or more staff
· Have experience within a busy, pressurised office
· Be able to work on their own initiative
· Have experience in producing performance reports and dealing with HR issues
This position is working a 40 hour week – 8am till 5pm.
Flexibility may be required on occasion
The role is for 9 month temporary contract with the possibility it will extend monthly or permanency may arise dependent on the business and the individual.
