Description
- Provides service delivery and support in recruitment and employment, new business, employee reassignment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development, training, AA/EEO, and special projects to fully leverage human capital.
- Assists in the implementation of human resources policies and procedures through the dissemination of employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings.
- Prepares reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organizational needs to provide appropriate parties with necessary human resources information.
- Counsels employees on company Human Resources plans, policies and procedures to ensure employees have appropriate information to make informed choices regarding benefits elections.
- Processes necessary paperwork for new hires, benefit enrollment and terminations to ensure timely and accurate coverages and cancellations. Works with business units to ensure receipt of timely and accurate employment/termination relevant information.
- Enters and maintains employee information in HRIS systems to ensure that employee documentation is current.
- Acts as a liaison between employees and/or managers and the organization by interpreting personnel policies and procedures and resolving employee concerns.
- Researches and consolidates information required for analysis of human resources operations and prepares special projects as assigned.
- Independently perform a wide range of functions and tasks which require vision, leadership, and proficiency in developing and implementing policy.
- The skill of problem identification, analysis, and resolution is central to the effective conduct of their activities as is the ability to work from an Agency perspective.
- Provides general or specialized administrative support to NGA offices and programs.
- Develop pertinent information and communicate it to varied audiences (e.g., NGA, DoD, IC, Federal Government, Congress, the media, the public, the international community, and private industry) in a timely and proactive manner.
- Provide other administrative duties listed (scheduling and coordinating meetings, calendars, and events; gathering, inputting, and retrieving electronic data; maintaining files and folders; researching and analyzing information and data to prepare reports, presentations, and papers; prepares routine correspondence in accordance with NGA standards; prepares and distributes Briefing and Read-Ahead materials; maintaining office supplies, initiating equipment trouble tickets or replacement, and coordinating office moves.)

- Supports meeting minutes and briefings for assigned activities and as needed for effective activity management
- Supports semi-annual updates to IA strategic plan, implementation plan, and NGA's IA policies and instructions.
- In Support of Government program manager, position shall:
- Assist in leading, supporting, and/or facilitating agency-level, directorate-level, office-level, and division level security assessments of NGS's systems information systems, and networks; and remediation of IA vulnerabilities identified as a result of those assessment.
- Assist in leading, supporting, and/or facilitating agency-level, directorate-level, office-level, and division level security assessments of NGA's overall security posture, and mitigation of IA findings and risks identified as a result of those assessments.
- Provide support to NGA's IA Program including development, collection, assessment, and reporting of IA metrics; development, implementation and development, implementation, and execution of Agency or Office level IA special programs or projects required.
- Assist in managing NGA's Information Assurance workforce Improvement Program (IAWIP) including supporting contractor and government personnel certification efforts and NGA compliance reporting.
- Provide Subject Matter expertise for IA training content for Agency-wide security awareness training as well as IA-specific training as required by NGA.
- Provide support for Division-level activities including but not limited to Web-site maintenance; tracking of official tasks responses and development of planning and reporting documents.
- Support NGA's IA outreach, collaboration, and communication activies with entities outside of th Agency by representing NGA at IC, DOD, and other government meetings, briefings, and conferences.
- Support development of written reports, project plans, schedules, meeting minutes, briefings and other documentation as necessary to support and manage the assigned activities.
- Ensure task activities and solutions are collaborated, coordinated, and/or approved as appropriate throughout the NGA enterprise as well as with other government and industry organizations as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or related field preferred
- Zero or more years of human resources experience
- Experience working with human resources principles, practices and procedures
- Experience working with corporate and legal employment-related policies
- Experience working with human resources information systems (HRIS)
- Basic organization skills to balance and prioritize work
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients
- Good communication skills
- Basic analytical and problem solving skills
- Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to identify, understand and apply federal, state and local changes to and/or new regulations/laws pertaining to human resources

- Program and Project management skills.
