Key Accountabilities
General skills and tasks
Each Officer Corporate Actions:
- Has good knowledge of Cash/Listing and Derivates CA operations
- Is aware of main developments /issues/events in the market and how these (can) result in a Corporate Action
- Assist in adapting CA operational procedures in light of additional CA types, new products and new tools
- Convenes and participates in consultative meetings on corporate actions
- Ensures that the adjustment for a Corporate Actions is performed in accordance with the Rules and CA Policy
- In projects takes part in business acceptance tests of new/updated functionality
- Is part of a virtual CA team and reports to the Manager CA for Cash Derivatives
Corporate Actions Operations
Depending on the activity / product market assigned to within the CA team for Cash Derivatives, the Corporate Actions Officer is responsible for several of below activities:
- Issuer request receipt
- Data mining
- Studies and analyses information to spot Corporate Actions for Derivatives products, Indices and MTFs or updates the already found Corporate Actions
- Informs the relevant internal client of the outcome
- Updates the CA calendar with all new found information
- Corporate actions analysis
- with regard to equity derivatives (options and futures)
- Assesses how Corporate Actions affect the markets, consults all relevant parties and sends out the necessary information
- Holds meetings to discuss complex corporate actions
- Keeps the historical database updated at all times
- Dividend trade monitoring for call options
- with regards to products listed on NYSE Euronext cash markets
- Engages in day to day relationships with issuer and / or their representatives
- Advises on Corporate actions design
- Supports issuers implementing their corporate actions
- Collects, reviews/understands required legal and offer/contract documentation
- Populates Plug and Score (in case of centralisation) with the relevant parameters
- Ensures listing of bonds, ETF and structured products
- Information to the market
- Provides clients with information on the corporate actions policy and corporate actions updates
- Prepares drafts announcements and informs management
- Informs market participants of the CA operations by sending out Notices and if relevant the results of centralization (for Cash)
- Gives presentations to internal and external stakeholders with regards to the Corporate Actions
- Referential updates
- Updates instruments characteristics on the UTP trading platform and Connect trading platforms (all cash and derivatives products, all markets, included MTF)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Background / Education
- Master degree (ex: Finance, Economics, Management); Business School
Experience
- Between 2 and 4 years of experience at a Broker, eBroker, Custodian, CIB or Market Infrastructure in project area, as a business analyst, operations, product management etc.
- Good understanding of Financial markets, markets structures and their evolution from a business, competition, regulatory and technological perspective
- Fluent in French and English (spoken and written) - a 3rd language, while not mandatory, would constitute an advantage
- Computer literacy: MS office, Macros etc
- Proven analytic, synthesis and reporting skills
- Capacity to provide new ideas/analyses and thought leadership
- Self-motivated and pro-active
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude at all times in a high pressure international environment
- Effective communicator, especially in a client facing context
- Stress resistant
