Job Description

As the OHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of best practice OHS programs across the manufacturing facility in Melbourne. Your role is accountable for developing the Responsible Care Programs, providing expert advice and analysis on regulatory compliance, and identification of workplace hazards through risk assessments and controls. In addition, your role will be to accurately report data on OHS targets to local and regional authorities in a timely manner, and facilitate investigations into incidents and accidents. You will be tasked with installing the appropriate preventative and corrective actions as well as managing the early intervention, return to work and rehabilitation programs for injured employees. Furthermore, you will regularly be involved in audits of OHS management systems, both internal and external, to ensure on-going commitment to OHS.

The Successful Applicant

You will ideally be degree qualified and have worked in a Chemical, Food or Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. A qualification in OHS and knowledge of regulatory compliance would also be an advantage. You will also possess a high capability in communication skills and be process driven and pragmatic. Your ability to work closely with site management, engineers, maintenance staff and operators will be key to your success.
