Oil & Gas Equity Research Associate recruitment
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join RBC’s Global Energy Research team, working alongside an experienced team of Analysts. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the ongoing success of our team, assisting in the detailed modelling of upstream asset valuations and company financials, contributing to written research and supporting the bank’s institutional equity sales force.
We expect applicants to have a strong academic record and be financially literate. The role demands an ability to perform under pressure, attention to detail, excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Formal financial qualifications in accountancy, CFA or MBA would be beneficial, as would work experience in the oil and gas industry. Although applicants are not required to have prior capital markets experience, we expect them to be able to demonstrate an active interest in the investing.
Equity research is a demanding, but potentially rewarding, career which requires self-motivation and drive to succeed. We are looking for an Associate eager to develop an expertise in the oil gas sector and able to enhance their skills to progressively assume greater responsibility for the maintenance and construction of valuation models and the generation of investment ideas.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Accountancy, Business, Geology, Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative field.
- Strong capabilities in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to source data from the internet.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Professional qualification such as CA, CFA, ACA, MBA.
- Previous exposure to the oil gas sector through work or study.
