My client, a Tier 1 Global Management Consulting firm is looking to expand its team within energy advisory services. The group whose focus is on providing expert insight to the global energy space has a strong reputation and track record having partnered with 18 of the top 20 oil and gas companies worldwide. Due to increased demand, the group have increased headcount and are keen to bring in a specialist Oil analyst with strong analytical capability and fundamentals knowledge in their field.
The Role
Focusing on the upstream exploration and production oil sector, you will join a team which is looking to strengthen and extend its consulting services developing its fundamental analytical capability by providing in depth macro-economic and industry insights. The role will include performing in depth analysis looking into the fundamentals of the upstream exploration production industry with your responsibilities including interpreting, analysing and forecasting large data sets, macroeconomics and industry trends. The role will also include work into strategy, planning and due diligence of potential investments. You will be expected to provide bespoke advice for clients using your developed deep sector insight.

The Person
- ESSENTIAL: At least a Masters Degree in ideally Geosciences / Earth Science / Engineering, Economics or other mathematically rigorous disciplines from a top tier University.
- 1 /2 Experience within the oil and gas sector / advisory services for the oil and gas sector (you must be able to demonstrate your interest in working in this space)
- Outstanding analytical capabilities are essential to succeed in this role including an analytical mind set along with conceptual problem solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to influence and persuade.
- Strong Excel / VBA experience to be able to analyse large data sets.
- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
