Oil Supply & Operations Manager recruitment
A growing Oil wholesaling business active across the European market place are in the market for a Supply Operations Manager to be based at their London offices. Working in conjunction with the Managing Director and Board level, the individual will be tasked with addressing strategic ambitions of the business primarily across the UK marketplace.
Taking a holistic approach to a business that operates within a highly competitive environment, this position will be focal to the maximisation of operating results and the implementation of strategies based on prevailing market conditions. The individual will be required to identify and analyse potential ventures, new routes to market, as well as opportunities to gain further market share.
It will be required to engage those across the Marketing, Middle Office and Finance functions whilst overseeing Supply, Operations, Fuels and Technical teams to deliver successfully.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Driving financial optimisation of product purchases across physical and derivative options, product supply, hedging, and other paper activities
- Consistently strive for best possible competitiveness and resultant profitability
- Develop and lead Business Development and projects aligned to strategic ambitions of the company
- Provide direction to Fuels and Technical Managers in relation to the optimisation of blending opportunities
- Ensure buying premiums are optimised and networks are utilised
- Ensure optimisation of oil movements from a delivery and storage perspective
- Utilisation of available storage facilities
- Adherence to Corporate Governance, Policies, and Procedures
- Utilisation of in-house systems
Acting as a bridge between the CEO and CFO in determining the strategic development of the Company and its subsidiaries, you will have proven experience/understanding of refining, logistics, trading, risk management and commercial activities of an Oil company.
This role demands an individual with entrepreneurial flair and energy to cope with a challenging environment and anticipated growth. You will have an ability to understand the business holistically, incorporating project management skills to foresee changes, develop adaptation plans and implement. Engaging with the company strategy and continually driving forward the brand and reputation is fundamental to this roles success, as is the ability to build and drive a team.
