Role Synopsis
At Baker Hughes, this position is responsible for ensuring that Baker Hughes operations exceed expectations and customers’ requirements. To maximize company’s market share and profits by facilitating cross product line solutions when applicable. To maintain and grow the company’s status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
· Provide high level of support to the product line(s), technical selling support, key field product applications support, well prognosis and/or completion product performance support.
· May be top engineering/technical position in region or area.
· Identify new product opportunities and development strategies.
· Interface with product line management and local management to support direction and strategies to best capture market opportunities. (Field Service Personnel not included.)
· Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare written recommendations and technical proposals for assigned customer(s).
- This role requires an Engineer that is a subject matter expert with Frac and cement, as theywill work closely with sales and various customers to design stimulation and cement proposals.
- The Engineer will need to generate technical papers and field studies as well as working with and supporting operations
- Work closely with customer engineering specialist to analyze well conditions and job requirements.
- Maintain a Job Tracking summary of all performed jobs.
- Prepare written Well Recap reports for customers, to include lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Gives presentations of technical matters to customers.
- Keep up-to-date with all required products (chemical, etc.) information.
- Keep track of products inventory and order Cement chemical products as required by ongoing and future operations.
- Works closely with lab personnel to establish and evaluate lab testing. Must ensure that lab reports sent to the clients are accurate, correct and in a timely manner.
- To ensure work is conducted in compliance with Company Policies and Quality Management System.
- Assist service delivery effort by working directly with service supervisors.
- Ensure full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/ customer HSE policies and procedures.
- Report to the Senior District Engineer, who will assign duties and provide guidance to meet client employees’ requests.
Qualifications
- Required 3 to 5+ years as Field Engineer performing cementing, acidizing, stimulation and nitrogen services
- Must be adaptable in working with multiracial and multicultural environment and be mindful of various local sensitivities.
- Must be strongly self-motivated and have strong sense of responsibility.
- Must be proficient in running engineering software (CMFACTS, WellTemp, Isovision, etc)
Preferred Requirements:
- Working knowledge of PowerPro, PowerLink, CemFacts, Mfrac, FracPro, and other applicable engineering software
- Working knowledge of stimulation, acidizing, cementing, and nitrogen services as well as design experience
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a Field Engineer and/or District Technical Supervisor
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Completion of supervisory/leadership training preferred.
- Proficient use of computer based programs related to application of products.
- Ability to supervise and lead employees.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written and analytical skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of three to five years oilfield experience Required.
