We are seeking a Payroll Professional/Human Resources generalist with an in-depth understanding of payroll and human resources programs, processes and related technologies.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

THIS POSITION CAN BE FILLED IN TORONTO, MONTREAL OR VANCOUVER.
The Onboarding Consultant works with new COS clients across Canada, and with Implementation, in a Project Management role, to ensure that all aspects of Canadian legislative requirements are advised, and that all Client company policy requirements are met. The primary function of this role is to coordinate the transition of the client from their current payroll, Human Resources (HR) and/or Benefits administration environment, to a fully outsourced environment, identifying and training on change management required by the client. This role will also coordinate testing, ensure all conversion data elements are collected for input and/or imported, balanced and verified, in order to meet the live date. This role will also be operationally responsible for processing at least one successful operational cycle and the transition of the client to the COS Operations team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Manage the integration of clients into the COS environment.

-       Define and document the roles and responsibilities of both the client and COS operations team.

-       Ensure set up of programming and configuration required to the HR and Payroll systems.

-       Advise client on Canadian legislation and compliance consistent with ADP COS policies and practices.

-       Ensure Client policy compliance.

-       Ensure that all conversion data elements are collected for input and/or imported, balanced and verified.

-       Ensure set up of all third party payments to benefit carriers and government agencies.

-       Ensure setup of required interfaces and reports.

-       Testing prior to first live run to verify set ups and readiness for first processing.

·         Process HR and Payroll transactions.

-       Responsible for processing the first Payroll run and/or first HR/Benefits processing, performing all regular Operations duties, or in coordination with the COS Operations team.

-       Ensures that all programming set ups are processing correctly.

-       Ensures that Operational processes are in place to deliver the highest quality of services, focusing on World Class Service.

·         Transition the client to COS Operations

-       Documentation of any outstanding requirements along with a defined Action Plan

-       Provide training, mentoring and advice to COS Operations associates with respect to client specifics.

-       Provide support for second processing cycle.

·         Ensure effective and efficient communication exists between the Onboarding team, COS, Implementation and all other ADP departments.

·         Communicate and liaise closely with the Implementation Specialists, COS Service Managers, Coordinators and Specialists, to transition new clients to COS Operations.

·         Keep informed on legislative and legal issues, best practices, and communicate on these issues within the COS Onboarding team.

 

COMPETENCIES

 

Education

·         University or College education or certification in Payroll and/or HR related discipline (CHRP, CPM, PCP, PS, PA, or PM) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

 

Required

 

-          Minimum of 6 years prior hands on experience in a HR generalist role and/or Payroll end-to-end processing.

-          Previous HRIS and/or Payroll Implementation experience and/or Project Management experience.

-          Previous experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems and software.

-          Working knowledge of Canadian (federal, provincial, and municipal) employment and payroll related legislation, in particular Employment Standards, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and Most Recent Quarter (MRQ).

-          Proven experience with mid to large size organizations.

-          Strong knowledge of MS Office software.

-          Year End experience with CRA, MRQ, all provincial WCB filings, all provincial health tax filings.
