In this integral role, the selected candidate will obtain third party payer precertification and work closely with physicians, clinical staff and insurance companies. Be prepared to also work with nursing regarding education of coding issues and updates and hold responsibility for CMS, Managed Care and TPA updates on pharmaceuticals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; RN or LPN preferred
- At least 2-3 years in oncology precertification or coding
- Candidates with 2-3 years of related nursing experience will also be considered
- Must have strong communication and organization skills with the ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of ICD9/CPT/HCPS nomenclature and medical terminology preferred
- Proficiency in computer systems such as ICS, SMS, Meditech, Spheris, Alpha, EPIC preferred
