The Online Business Manager (OBM) is responsible for the PL’s of Timbuk2’s ecommerce business and key third party online accounts. They lead the ecommerce team and partner with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams at Timbuk2 to execute strategies and meet financial goals. By defining and executing promotional cadence and inventory forecasting, the OBM takes advantage of product trends and limits liability in non-performing skus. A true lover of data, the OBM shares sales trends with other team leads at Timbuk2 to positively influence product development.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Own the PLs for timbuk2.com and key third party sites
- Lead merchandising initiatives for timbuk2.com to deliver an excellent shopping experience and highlight seasonally relevant merchandise
- Monitor Timbuk2 pricing, product, merchandising and, marketing on third party and competitor sites
- Identify best practices in the ecommerce world and hold timbuk2.com to those standards
- Leverage site functionality to highlight relevant products that align with company-wide initiatives and maximize conversion
- Build and execute development road map for timbuk2.com
- Partner with Product Development and Operations to drive Tiimbuk2’s custom business
- Identify fabric trends and drive fabric selection and sell-through
- Identify key trends in customization and ensure Timbuk2 stays abreast with such trends
Timbuk2 on Key 3rd party sites
- Account Management for key Timbuk2 online partners
- Lead negotiations and ensure that Timbuk2 product visibility and sell-through is maximized on all partner sites
- Devise product, marketing, and promotional cadence strategies with key accounts
- Oversee all online-only channel partnerships
- Work with the National Sales Manager to grow Timbuk2’s online presence and revenue by implementing best practices on partner sites
- Maintain the Timbuk2 ecommerce ecosystem
- Lead the monitoring and enforcement of Timbuk2 standards and advertising policy online
- Identify and filter new online distribution opportunities
What you’ll need to rock this role:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year university
- 4+ years experience in an e-commerce company with PL experience
- Experience in a retail company and/or as a buyer a plus
- Strong analytical and Excel skills.
- Prior experience with site analytics tool (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Experience leading a team both vertically and cross-functionally
- Strong Project Management skills
- High tolerance for stress mixed with a strong sense of urgency and a healthy dose of detail obsession.
- Empathy for the customer. They are right, even when they’re wrong!
- Self-starter; be your own master!
- Love of dogs and/or willingness to hang out with them in the office.
