Online Category Manager for Product Expansion

The Online Category Manager for Product Expansion, is responsible for implementing and actioning the strategic category growth for their assigned merchandising categories. The OCM drives the decision making, strategies and tactics for the lowest level assortments, aligning to the core merchandising expansion strategies. The OCM tracks both offline and online product category sales to help drive their decision making and plans for additional omni-channel categories. The OCM is responsible to drive their growth targets for their assigned categories, as well as the solutions to deal with missed SKU and sales targets. The OCM Manages and drives the decision around new vendors, brands that align to the merchandising strategies set by the core merchants. The OCM provides category level insight and business knowledge to drive the needs within the building of the SOS business plans. The OCM will manage Online Merchandisers to drive the executional needs of the business. The OCM will provide guidance and direction in category management to their merchandisers in order to mentor them and prepare them for the next level. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: ?Participate, in planning sessions and Lowes.com Business Plan development and evaluate and recommend category solutions ?Drive customer engagement and Omni-channel sales through your analyzing of the category businesses you?re assigned to ?Analyze sales funnel data to determine customer engagement by category, page and through horizontal entry points to your categories ?Manage and publish the category merchandising calendar, by week/month/quarter/year ?Build the strategy and drive the category/product merchandising of assigned categories ?Provide market level data and insight to drive decision making with your Lead Online Category Manager and Merchant Manager partner on product line extensions and SOS pricing ?Drive the taxonomy and data needs for the assistance of item set-up for SOS products ?Identify and recommend ?Best Practices? for SOS on-boarding and set-up ?Attend Merchandising and Vendor meetings, discussing category solutions and related problems, sharing insights learned from other areas, and communicating changes process and procedure ?Manage quick reaction to daily needs of business ?Facilitate cross functional support for the implementation of new tools to drive your business ?Work with customer care, DC?s, PR and other support areas to manage and deal with customer issues ?Work with Store Operations and the Multi-Channel Manger to drive the inception, work and completion of new programs that effect store associates, in an effort to ensure a multi-channel event or program is successful POSITION REQUIREMENTS ?This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Management, Marketing or Communications. ?Must have 5-7 years of merchandising/online merchandising experience, combined with analytical training. ?Management of a team with at least 1 direct reports, for 2+ years ?Online Marketing/Merchandising/Promotions specific experience required is 1-3 years. ?Retail experience a must, prior home improvement experience a plus. ?Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with Internet-based commerce systems and retail ecommerce best practices. ?Proven negotiation and relationship building prior experience ?Multi-task oriented, delegation and the ability to prioritize projects ?Project design and/or management skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ?Broad knowledge of Lowe?s merchandising, marketing and store operations With fiscal year 2010 sales of $48.8 billion, Lowe?s Companies, Inc. is a FORTUNE® 50 company that serves approximately 15 million customers a week at more than 1,750 home improvement stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
