Amazon is now looking for a smart, pro-active individual to help grow our business as an Online Content Manager (known internally as Site Merchandiser). You'll be responsible for all editorial/merchandising in a specific area of our web site. The role is a combination of editorial and marketing, with the goal of increasing traffic and sales through compelling, commercial content.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping your area of the Web site up to date with relevant, smart content
- Managing customer email programs
- Evaluating traffic and sales data to improve the effectiveness of your content
- Developing new promotional opportunities
- Initiating and managing Web site improvement projects
- Improving discovery and increasing conversion through product content coverage and implementation of promotional content
- Using in-house reporting systems to identify areas of opportunity to grow Amazon's business. Refining and optimising merchandising, as well as testing new initiatives
- Ensuring content conforms to site standards, co-op commitments, and promotional requirements
You will use our in-house content management systems to:
- Manage product-specific data - reviews, cross-promotion etc
- Maximise new releases, features and price promotions through intelligent merchandising and analysis
- Improve the Hardlines email channel through smart product selection and analysis
- Generate promotional and site improvement ideas and manage their implementation
- Analyse and report on activities in order to maximise results and customer experience
Qualifications/Experience:
Essential:
- Excellent written English
- High computer literacy, with ability to learn new systems fast
- Quick thinker with ability to think commercially and analytically
- High level of responsibility, self-motivation and enthusiasm
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a related job
- Analytical experience
- Copyediting or commercial copywriting experience
For this role you'll need to be creative, detail-oriented and organised, with a strong sense of ownership. Excellent written English and high computer literacy are essential. You'll need to be a fast learner, and good at thinking on your feet and making smart decisions. You'll be an expert communicator, able to represent Amazon at high-profile external meetings. Previous experience in a related job or project would be an advantage.
