Online Trading Conversion Manager

 

We are looking for someone to make a splash!! This job is all about delivering and achieving the best merchandising and conversion rates across multiple sites to achieve online sales targets. Using knowledge and an analytical approach, the successful candidate will analyse performance and use that knowledge to work with key stakeholders to optimize the user journey to increase conversion.

Scope

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will liaise with the Customer Services Team, Web Designer, external suppliers and manage the Web Content Assistant. This role is responsible for delivering best in class commercial merchandising of our products and services and the on-going improvement and optimisation of customer journeys and sales conversion rates.

As the Online Trading Manager you will do product, stock sales reporting and analysis in line with commercial targets. You will ensure all site content is displayed to maximise sales and reduce sales returns. 

 

You will engage with the Marketing team to help define and shape online promotions and marketing campaigns. Working with the web developer you will be responsible for the execution and delivery of merchandising initiatives and campaigns.

 

You will be expected to measure and analyse the impact and potential conversion of your initiatives from multiple aspects, including marketing, multi-channel, paid search and organic traffic. By reviewing current sales performance and optimising online products to ensure all sales opportunities are maximised.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven success and experience in on-site product merchandising, development and implementation of strategic promotional activity, SEO management as well as an ability to provide ROI reporting against all marketing spend.

 

To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience managing the commercial success of an ecommerce site within agreed budgets and will be looking to ‘make your mark’.

 

A ‘roll your sleeves up attitude’ is essential as is confidence with web analytics and assessment of this to drive sales is crucial within this role.

You will possess great attention to detail whilst also being flexible enough to adapt to a dynamic environment and rapidly changing priorities that a growing business requires.

Key responsibilities

 

·         Analyse reports from various sources (Google Analytics, finance etc.) to find new opportunities for sales growth and improved conversion

·         Identify conversion blockers and sales opportunities and work with the Online Trading Managers to determine best approach to improve conversion.

·         Help create, define and manage a testing/optimisation programme. (Conception through to execution).

·         Monitor and report sudden changes in online sales patterns and proposed actions to the Online Sales Marketing team

·         Create and monitor all key performance indicators (page basket conversion, page bounce rate, click through rate etc.) taking action to rectify shortfalls

·         Competitor and industry benchmarking and analysis

·         Manage the internal processes via sound communication and relationship management.

 

Knowledge and experience:

 

·         Understanding of merchandising and conversion within an eCommerce environment

·         Demonstrable understanding of online conversion metrics

·         Experience of sales reporting

·         Strong commercial and business awareness

·         Experience of web analytics tools and web reporting

·         An ability to concisely illustrate insights and recommendations in a user-friendly format

·         Understanding of marketing traffic sources

·         Ability to influence and persuade

·         Strong Trading and commercial mentality with some well-developed selling skills.

·         Experience of online sales essential

·         Ability to plan business and manage stock forecasts.

·         A degree is not essential but is desirable.
