Ivanhoe Australia Ltd is an Australian based company, with principal activities focussed in North-West Queensland. Situated near Mount lsa at our Cloncurry and Osborne operations, we are concentrating on the exploration and development of our portfolio of Copper-Gold-Molybdenum-Rhenium projects in this region.
Recently Ivanhoe Australia acquired the Osborne mine site, which will be utilised to further develop the Merlin mine. We are now developing several large projects in this region, and 2012 is a year of rapid growth, with the expansion of our current infrastructure and installation of new facilities, as well as the continuous improvements and upgrades to the Osborne mine site.
Due to the recent growth and expansion of our company, we currently have vacancies for Open Pk Technicians to join our Mining department at Osborne mine. The position reports to the Open Pit Superintendents based at the project. The Open Pit Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment and associated infrastructure as required, and; to provide support to the Open Pit Superintendents, technical and operational mine staff and business partners.
Required skills and experience:
- Current Qld driver's license
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good organisation skills
- A degree of safety awareness and hazard identification and risk assessment skills (or ability to learn)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively
Desirable:
- QMS 1-2-3 qualification
- Experience within an open pit mining environment
- Experience in a FIFO mining environment
