As the Open Source Developer your role will be to develop, test and commission a software tool that manages the generation and distribution of network device configurations. In particular, switches, routers, and console servers that form the organisation's Operations Critical Data Network. 
 
The objective of the software tool is to minimise faults and unplanned outages caused by manual entry of complex configuration commands. 
 
You must have :- 
 

• Tertiary qualifications in computing science, information technology or in a related discipline or equivalent industry experience; 
• In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle Methodologies 
• Strong knowledge of structured analysis and design techniques 
• Extensive knowledge of database concepts, modelling and design 
• Proven experience in systems development and programming preferably gained in a large, complex organisation 
• Proven experience in undertaking highly detailed systems/programming work in open Source systems and one or more of the following information technology environment: Visual Basic, C++, C and PLM programming languages on Windows NT, WEX 8051 Operating Systems and Intel Pentium, Celeron, 8051 and 1086 processors; 
• Familiar with change management and version control methodologies for applications development.
