Job Description
7x24 network infrastructure and managed hosting facilities. This support role interfaces with our clients at various levels and requires candidates to be highly focused with exceptional communication skills.
Minimum Work and Education Experience
Per our contact, candidate will be trained. There may be some travel in the area as well as trips to Zurich, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and Luxembourg. They are looking for someone with the right attitude - even more than skillset.
- Bachelors Degree in related discipline or technical equivalent
- 5+ years in a network support role assisting clients with various connectivity issues
- Experience with network monitoring, disaster recovery and backup plans
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
- Proficiency with browser and internet-based user interfaces
- Experience with standard issue tracking, escalation reporting software
- Experience with Lan/Wan and arc serve backup.
- Proficiency with Microsoft IIS web Server
- Proficiency with Windows 2003 and Active Directory including Group Policy
- Experience with email systems and DNS zone maintenance
- Experience with Cisco Switches/Pix/ASA/VPN
- Experience with backup software (Arcserve)
- Excellent Documentation Skills
Experience in the following areas would be a plus:
- Knowledge of Windows Scripting
- Debugging / Troubleshooting / Server and network performance diagnostics skills
- Knowledge of Data Replication/Synchronization software for Disaster Recovery purposes
Responsibilities
- Monitor the 7x24 network infrastructure and support the needs of our users
- Maintain security, remote access and telecommunication systems
- Ensure backups run and disaster recovery systems are operational
- Assist in building, shipping and installation of servers and other network hardware
- Build, deploy support client infrastructures and manage software releases
- Track, record document issues and resolutions for continuous improvement
- Coordinate client communications to deliver status updates and issue resolution
- Accept full accountability for work, projects and actions
- Minimal travel may be required
- Desktop and application support for 40 users.
- Deployment of patches/updates using Active Directory
- Configuration of DNS zones and associated resource records
- Website configuration and maintenance using Microsoft IIS
- Maintain user accounts and mailboxes
