The Operational Risk Manager’s key responsibilities are to manage the delivery of operational risk management activities and ongoing management of the Operational Risk systems within the firm

The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for offering advice, support and challenge to the appointed Risk Officers and other staff involved in the RCSA process.
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for management of the Operational Risk Analyst.
The Operational Risk Manager has responsibility for the following:
Development of Operational Risk Scenarios, including the use of insurance as a mitigant.
Management and development of the firm’s operational risk systems and system related processes.
Assisting line managers and Risk Officers in their risk and control self assessments.
Facilitation and roll out of the risk and control self assessment to new departments.
Assisting or leading risk related projects as required.
Analysing, reporting and assessing operational risk.
Project Management and co-ordination of the ISAE 3402
Development and scheduling of Operational Risk reports
Developing and training Risk Officers in the field of operational risk
Secretary to the Controls Committee
Attendance and contribution to the Compliance, Audit and Risk (CAR) meetings with third party outsource service providers.

The Operational Risk Manager will manage the Operational Risk Analyst and system resources within the Risk area to enable the responsibilities of the department to be fully discharged.
.Reporting and Escalation
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring that relevant risk issues are reported and escalated to the Head of Operational Risk, as appropriate.

3. Referred Decisions
All red REV’s
Any operational risk outside the business’s risk appetite
Staff disciplinary issues, with the advice and support of Human Resources
Significant variations to policies and procedures
Matters having any budgetary impact
4. Escalations
All red REV’s
Any operational risk outside the business’s risk appetite
Decisions on projects are referred to the Head of Operational Risk.
5.Delegations
Day to day management of REVs
6. Escalations to other business areas
Where apprpropriate, issues which can not be resolved, or fall outside of the Operational Risk Manager’s authority will be escalated to the relevant business area.
