Operational Finance Manager

This role manages the Operational Finance team, who ensures the provision of quality financial services, financial issues, risks, accounting and reporting requirements meet the needs of the organisation’s customer departments and services. The Operational Finance Manager also is responsible for the management of resources to support operational finance processes, as well as strategic planning and business development activities led by the Business Partner Group

In this new structure, The Operational Finance Manager reports to the Head of Finance and has 3 direct reports with a finance team of approx. 90 staff.

Other key responsibilities in this role include;

· Co-ordination and management of budget planning and monitoring processes supporting revenue budgets which is approx. 80% of the job
· Maintain, control, assess and initiate changes to financial accounting and reporting systems
· Provide advice and support to the Business Partner Group, customer departments and managers on the financial implications of policy developments and funding changes
· Liaise with partnerships, joint management committees and other organisations in order to maximise benefits and ensure overall financial services provided by the Operational Finance Team are effective
· Work with the Corporate Accounting Team to successfully implement and embed in to business as usual practice

You will be ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA Qualified with at least 5 years pqe and be either from the public or private sector but experience in public services will be a distinct advantage. You will be experienced in managing large finance teams and have a successful track record in managing finance and operational controls. Strong IT literacy skills with Excel, SAP and other systems would be ideal. You will be confident, articulate, ambitious, with a positive, problem solving approach.
