Operational Regulatory Risk
Overview
- Manage and oversee Operational elements of FSA client money and custody requirements (“CASS”) regulatory review/programmes in relation to SEI global wealth platform and asset management businesses.
- Reporting to UK Operations, UK Compliance and UK Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain CASS oversight, governance/MI and Operational Controls and procedures
- Enhance and monitor procedures and controls environment in line with CASS requirements
- Monitor and review CASS developments and ensure that these are reflected in updated policy, procedure and operating practice.
- Build, implement and maintain CASS training plan and delivery for all operations and relevant business unit staff
- Working closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk and Operations to produce, revise, advise and implement CASS policies and procedures
- Develop, implement, enhance and assist with best practice CASS risk assessment and monitoring programme through analysis of business strategy and operational systems and as part of overall Compliance monitoring programme and Operations Regulatory Quality and Control review programme,
- Seek to ensure that CASS risks and issues are pro-actively identified and that they are appropriately managed and escalated.
- Chair relevant CASS committees
- Provide reporting of accurate, targeted CASS MI and operational effectiveness metrics to relevant committees including Risk Committee, London Executive Committee and UK Board.
- Review and ensure accuracy of CMAR in accordance with FSA requirements. Attend industry and peer group seminars, workshops and training sessions to develop and maintain knowledge of CASS requirements and practices.
Requirements:
- At least 8 years Operational Risk Management experience or relevant experience in Compliance, Control, Auditing or Procedural review functions
- Detailed knowledge of client money, assets and custody rules, regulations, guidance and industry best practice (and in particular CASS).
- +3 years industry experience of implementing CASS practices is a necessity
- Dynamic personality, good analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to prioritise
- Proven experience in writing policies, procedures and reports
