Operational Risk Analyst – Credit. Would also suit Big 4 NQ ACA recruitment

My clients Fixed Income business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rate, credit and currency markets. Fixed Income help their global franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organisations.

Their global network comprises more than 2,000 professionals working on our five main trading floors in London, Hong Kong, New York, Singapore and Tokyo. They are supported by regional offices throughout Europe, the Americas, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Risk Management for the FI function including Identification, analysis and documentation of risks, processes and controls covering the Credit related activities Front to Back.

• Assess and define FI Front Office controls including the controls implemented as a result of strategic projects.

• Identify and improve Level 1 controls whose execution falls under FI Front Office responsibility and ensure that these controls are properly executed.

• Perform or coordinate the execution of controls not delegated to FI Front Office and set up Front Office procedures if required.

• Upon request from FI senior management or following an assessment which highlights a risky situation or degradation in operational risk indicators, lead or participate in projects to further investigate the issues and address them. These projects could take place in any location where FI has a presence, worldwide.

• Develop and implement FI Front Office KPI/KRI and relevant dashboards by interacting with FI management.

• Analyze controls results and report their effectiveness on a periodic basis including qualitative comments if necessary (dashboard and risk cartography) and coordinate the escalation process.

• Report and monitor the effectiveness of FI Front Office controls and efficiency of KRIs.

• Perform risk self assessment of the FI processes front to end where risks have been identified, select and document Potential Incidents and Control Plans as an output.

• In charge of the monitoring and analysis of historical incidents and related action plans, and performance quality reviews.

• Follow up implementation of the Internal Audit, External Audit, and Regulators recommendations assigned to the FI business.

• Contribute to and consolidate the Permanent Control Reporting for FI Globally.

• Contribute in preliminary risk assessment on activities launched through New Activity Committee validation process to ensure the business in charge have identified, described, and measured new processes and operational risk exposures and implemented the relevant controls.

• Plan and perform a full risk assessment in the year following the launch of the new activities under his scope.

• Play a leading role in developing standards for the FI operational risk and permanent control framework globally to meet business and management requirements.

Candidate requirements:

• Newly qualified ACA from Big 4 Financial Services background, or

• Operational risk experience with front to back trade life cycle control knowledge.

• Exposure to markets products would be advantageous, particularly Credit or Rates.

• Maturity to be able to challenge Front Office traders and staff.

• Strong Excel and data analysis skills. VBA knowledge would be advantageous.
