OPERATIONAL RISK ANALYST recruitment
This vacancy is to assist in the identification, assessment and monitoring of operational risk faced by the group.
Core Responsibilities:
- Analyse temporary and emerging risks as a result of internal change and external events, including ensuring timely updates to process maps, procedures manuals and risk maps where required.
- Liaise with relevant departments following reported loss events and near miss incidents to determine the root cause and evaluate the business risk arising from such incidents.
- Devise and recommend process and control improvements necessary to reduce operational risk highlighted by reported incidents.
- Manage the data contained in the Incident Management System and prepare clear, concise and accurate incident reports for internal committees and boards.
- Undertake ad hoc business risk reviews as required, advising on business processes, incident history and risk trends.
- Liaise with staff and management at all levels in relation to risk management and the business environment.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of risk management techniques in the Company.
- Assist with the maintenance of counterparty details and authorised broker trading limits.
- Prepare papers for reporting operational risk exposures and issues to internal meetings.
- Undertake other miscellaneous business risk duties, as required.
Core Skills:
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to make sound judgements based on evidence, and have evidence of strong analytical skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with people at all levels across the business is essential.
- The ability to deliver high quality results in advance of deadlines and to use a high standard of written English to produce clear and concise reports is also essential.
- A strong regard for accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
Core Requirements:
- Applicants must be graduates, preferably with evidence of further industry and/or professional related study and qualifications.
- Applicants must have a strong background in working in an office-based cross-business, service-delivery role, preferably in a Financial Services organisation.
- Experience of working in risk and control would be advantageous.
